For a new install downloaded GSAK and installed from gsak.net .

Find the link "Download version 7.xx" and save the file to your PC for example. on the desktop so you can easily find it.

There after you go into GSAK's user forum in this thread - http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showforum=6 - and look for the fixed / locked thread at the top.

In this thread you will find the bottom article and download the patch lying there and save the same place as you saved the installation file GSAK. Make sure you meet the requirements that are highlighted with yellow marker.

Then double-click on GSAK installation file and follow the instructions on the screen, but fails to start GSAK up on the last screen image. Then double-click the patch you downloaded and follow the instructions on the screen again. Here you can still start GSAK as the end of installation.

First GSAK starts up it will GSAK tips, they can be turned off if desired.

And when the database is empty, it is proposed that loaded a GPX file caches, say no to it because it is Australian caches will be filled in the database.
